RELAY FOR LIFE: A TEAM EVENT TO FIGHT CANCER

In 2003, Mrun took part American Cancer Society’s, “24 hour Relay for Life.” Besides raising $1450 to help fight the battle against Cancer, we showed our support to the American Cancer Society in the best way we know how, we ran!

In a 24-hour period, Mrunners ran the periphery of Palmer field 700 times, 175 miles, receiving the, “Most motivated team award!”

MRUN will be a proud participant again in 2008, “24 Hour Relay for Life.” If you’d like to be a part of our team please contact David Metler (dcmetler@umich.edu).

PASSING ON THE TORCH

MRUN has developed a fun and educational 30-minute presentation for grades K-5 teaching children the importance of physical fitness in their lives. In the past, Physical Education teachers have incorporated our presentation into the school’s field day. If you’re interested in having MRUN present at your elementary school or you’d like to get involved in this exciting and rewarding project, please contact Paul at paujohns@umich.edu.
