MRun hosts many social events for members of the club! Ranging from an ice cream social to the corn maze, MRun puts on many fun activites for team members to enjoy. Check out the list on the side to see what events have been announced.

As of the 2024-2025 academic year, all social events are paid for by the club and are free for dues paying members!

Hello MRun!

We hope you are all having a wonderful summer! What better way to end your summer break than to spend an unforgettable few days with your MRun homies? That’s right. It’s CAMP TIME!!! Please be sure to read all of the information as it is very important.

Incoming freshmen, sign up! This is a great way to meet new friends!

WHO:

You! MRunners! All distance runners, sprinters, and throwers are welcome. Including if you are injured and just want to have fun!

WHAT:

Running. Swimming. Beach. Hanging out with friends. Other fun outdoorsy stuff. There will be some events planned by your amazing social chairs and we will have access to various YMCA activities supervised by camp staff. If you are injured or don’t want to run that far, there are still plenty of fun activities to do with your teammates!

WHY:

  • Because it’s been all summer and you haven’t seen your MRun friends!
  • It’s a great way to kickstart or keep building your training for cross country season!
  • Starting new friendships with amazing people makes college a little less intimidating.
  • See how awesome the club is! Incoming freshmen and other newcomers are very welcome. Going to camp isn’t a commitment to join the club, just a fun way to see what it’s all about!

LOGISTICS:

Dates: Sunday, August 10 – Wednesday, August 13th

Location: YMCA Camp Arbutus Hayo-Went-Ha in Traverse City

Transportation: You can either carpool or drive yourself, and you can leave from Ann Arbor or wherever else you happen to be. If you choose to carpool from Ann Arbor, we will meet at Ferry Field (west end of the track) and leave, tentatively, at 10:00 am on Sunday, August 10th, and carpools will be organized for you. If you are driving from somewhere else, you will need to organize separately and make sure to get yourself to camp by 2:00 pm. Plan on stopping for lunch on the way there and on the way back as well. We should be back in Ann Arbor around 2:00-3:00 pm on Wednesday, August 13th.

Cost: The total cost for camp is $140 to attend. If you are driving others, you will be reimbursed $50 following the event. If you are only driving yourself, you will not be reimbursed. This total cost covers a three-night stay, eight meals, a camp t-shirt, and lots of fun activities. You’re looking at a great deal!

Payment: We will be using the credit card portal to collect camp payments. Please see the link and instructions below. Credit card payments should be made by July 21st! Please send proof of payment by emailing our treasurer.

If the credit card portal is not for you, please plan to bring cash or check to a board member when you arrive at camp. Checks should be made out to “The University of Michigan” with “Running Club” in the memo line. We will NOT accept Venmo, PayPal, or anything else!

  • Enter your email & phone number
  • Select “CS-RUNN” from the unique identifier dropdown
  • Enter “MRun Camp” for the payment description
  • Enter the payment amount
  • Enter your credit card information and billing address
  • Submit
  • Forward your confirmation email to our treasurer

NOTE: If cost is an issue, please don't hesitate to reach out to us (mrunpresident@umich.edu). No one should miss out on this amazing experience due to financial strain!

Signup: Fill out the Camp Signup Form ASAP! The deadline is Monday, July 21st at the absolute latest! Packing list, schedule, travel packet, room assignments, and more info coming later!
